Characteristics

Shrub to 2 m high, diffuse, open. Branchlets slightly flexuose, densely silvery-sericeous between the often resinous ribs. Phyllodes ± sessile, moderately to strongly incurved, terete to subquadrangular, 5–11 (–14) cm long, 1–1.5 mm wide, rather stout, dull, green to grey-green, silvery sericeous when young, commonly glabrous at maturity, 8-veined; veins broad, flat-topped and each separated by a shallow dark-coloured furrow. Inflorescences simple, 1 or 2 per axil; heads sessile to subsessile, subglobular to obloid, 40–55-flowered, 7–10 mm long, 7–8 mm diam., golden; peduncles to 2 mm long; bracteoles acute. Flowers 4-merous; sepals c. ½-united. Pods linear, to 6 cm long, c. 2 mm wide, thinly crustaceous, sericeous; margins broad and glabrous. Seeds longitudinal, oblong-elliptic, 2.5–3 mm long, glossy, pale brown mottled yellow; aril small.
