Characteristics

Low, spreading shrub, commonly 0.4–0.8 m high. Branchlets sericeous between red-brown or yellow-brown resin-ribs at extremities. Phyllodes shallowly to strongly incurved (sometimes into a complete circle), terete, (2.5–) 3–6 (–7) cm long, 0.5–1.3 mm diam., grey-green to subglaucous, resinous; veins 8, broad, ± flat-topped, not or scarcely raised, with ± appressed hairs in the shallow narrow furrows between. Inflorescences simple, normally 2 per axil; heads ± sessile and globular, 4–5 mm diam., 10–22-flowered, golden. Flowers 4-merous; sepals united for ⅔–¾ of their length. Pods linear, slightly raised over and slightly constricted between seeds, straight to shallowly curved, to 6 cm long, 1.5–2 mm wide, thinly coriaceous, minutely appressed-puberulous on lateral faces, resinous; margins wide. Seeds longitudinal, elliptic, 2–2.5 mm long, glossy, mottled; aril conical, more or less as long as seed.
