Characteristics

Spreading multistemmed shrub 0.2–0.4 m tall. Branchlets glabrous or puberulous to pubescent. Stipules linear-triangular to setaceous, 1.5–4.5 mm long. Phyllodes ±sessile and linear, flat but appearing angular when narrow due to raised nerves, 1–3 cm long, 1–2.5 mm wide, with oblique and pungent apex, rigid, green, glabrous or hairy, 5-nerved, with the 2-nerved adaxial margin thick and nerve-like; midrib prominently raised, central or near lower margin. Inflorescences simple or rudimentary racemes with axes more than 0.5 mm long, 1 or 2 per axil; peduncles 5–14 mm long, glabrous or hairy; heads globular, 12–22-flowered, golden or creamy yellow; bracteoles acuminate. Flowers 5-merous; sepals ½-¾-united; petals striate. Pods curved, terete to subterete, to 7 cm long, c. 4 mm wide, coriaceous to thinly crustaceous, red-brown, longitudinally nerved, glabrous or puberulous. Seeds longitudinal, oblong, 5.5–6 mm long; aril terminal, conical.
