Low, spreading shrub to 1 m high, divaricate. Branchlets slender, with a conspicuous, flaking, white epidermis, glabrous or with sparse short, whitish hairs, glabrescent, spinescent; older phyllodes often fall away, leaving a twiggy appearance. Phyllodes ascending, linear-oblanceolate or narrowly oblong-elliptic, horizontally flattened, 5–20 mm long, 1–2 mm wide, obtuse, usually green, glabrous or sometimes with sparse short hairs, obscurely 3-veined on the lower surface and 1-veined above, usually with 1 subapical gland. Inflorescences rudimentary 1-headed racemes, solitary or paired in axils; peduncles 5–12 mm long, glabrous or subglabrous; heads globular to slightly obloid, 25–35 (–40)-flowered, yellow. Flowers 5-merous. Pods linear, distinctly curved or twisted, raised over and margin slightly constricted between seeds, 1–7 cm long, 2–4 mm wide. Seeds longitudinal.
