Shrub 1–4 m high, open, spindly. Branchlets resinous at first, coarsely verrucose-scabrous, (tips of hairs soon eroded leaving tubercle-bases). Phyllodes spreading, inequilaterally widely elliptic to ovate, 5–9 cm long, 3.5–7.5 cm wide, strongly undulate and with irregularly denticulate margins, acute, mucronate, thickly coriaceous, dark green, prominently 3-or 4-veinved with a prominent coarse reticulum in between; venation ± verrucose-scabrous. Inflorescences simple; peduncles 3–7 mm long, scabrous, resinous; spikes 25–80 mm long, 6–8 mm diam., dense, golden. Flowers 4-merous; sepals free. Pods linear, strongly raised over seeds, straight to slightly curved, to 7.5 cm long, 3–4.5 mm wide, glabrous. Seeds longitudinal, elliptic to broadly elliptic, 3.5–4 mm long, glossy, brown-black; aril terminal.
