Characteristics

Shrub or tree 1–3.5 m tall. Bark stringy and shaggy on trunks, ±'Minni-Ritchi' type on upper branches. New shoots bright yellow-green and ±viscid. Branchlets sericeous, resinous. Phyllodes ascending, filiform, gently curved, terete, 6–15.5 cm long, 0.6–0.8 mm diam., greyish green, resinous, with 8 closely parallel fine nerves obscured by sericeous indumentum. Inflorescences simple, 1 per axil; peduncles 0.7–2 mm long, densely golden appressed-hairy; heads obloid to cylindrical, 8–20 mm long, 4–6 mm diam., 50–76-flowered, golden; receptacle densely villous. Flowers 5-merous, hairy; sepals ⅓–½-united. Pods linear, slightly raised over seeds, slightly curved, to 8 cm long, 2.5–4 mm wide, thin-coriaceous, densely villous-tomentose. Seeds longitudinal, broadly elliptic or oblong, 3–3.5 mm long, glossy, mottled brown; pleurogram double; aril an apical thin flap of tissue.
