Characteristics

Shrub to 3 m tall, rounded or obconical. Branchlets sericeous between ribs towards apices. Phyllodes terete, 7–12 (–14) cm long, 0.5–1.2 mm diam., coarsely pungent, soft and flexible or rigid, green to grey-green, glabrous or subglabrous; nerves 8, broad, equal, each separated by a shallow narrow furrow; gland 0–3 mm above base. Inflorescences simple, 1 or 2 per axil; heads ±sessile, obloid to short-cylindrical, usually 8–15 mm long, golden. Flowers 4-merous; sepals ½–¾-united. Pods linear to submoniliform, 3–6 cm long, 2–2.5 mm wide, firmly chartaceous, antrorsely strigulose. Seeds longitudinal, elliptic to oblong-elliptic, 2–3 mm long, glossy, grey-brown speckled dark brown or light brown mottled yellow; aril apical.
