Shrub 0.5–1.7 m high, dense, rounded or obconic. Branchlets glabrous or appressed-puberulous. Phyllodes patent to ascending, linear to oblanceolate-linear to oblong-elliptic, straight to ± curved, occasionally ±terete, mostly 2–6.5 cm long, usually 2–5 mm wide, acute to short-acuminate, coarsely pungent or innocuous, coriaceous to rigid-coriaceous, glabrous or appressed-puberulous and glabrescent, with numerous closely parallel yellow veins; intervein spaces darker coloured and with evident stomata; gland(s) 1–3, inconspicuous, (3–) 5–21 mm above pulvinus. Inflorescences simple, 2 per axil; peduncles 2–11 mm long, glabrous to ±appressed-puberulous; heads globular or slightly obloid, 4–6 mm diam., 18–35-flowered, golden; bracteoles linear to fusiform. Flowers 5-merous; sepals free or shortly united basally. Pods linear, straight to shallowly curved, to 10 cm long, 2–3 mm wide, thinly coriaceous or chartaceous, ± appressed-puberulous or glabrous. Seeds longitudinal, elliptic to oblong, 3–4 mm long, glossy, brown or brown-black; aril terminal, bright yellow.
