Characteristics

Erect to spreading, compact shrub to 2 m high. Branchlets densely villous with ± appressed hairs. Phyllodes crowded, sometimes ± whorled or clustered, on short stem-projections, ascending to erect, very narrowly elliptic to narrowly oblanceolate, flat, 4–13 mm long, 1–2 mm wide, straight or slightly curved, often finely longitudinally wrinkled when dry; apex subacute with a mucro; indumentum of persistent, rather long fine weak ± appressed hairs which impart a silvery grey appearance; midrib obscure; gland small, at distal end of pulvinus. Inflorescences simple, 1 per axil; peduncles 5–15 mm long, c. 0.3–0.5 mm wide, densely ± appressed-hairy, sometimes glabrous in fruit; heads globular, (22–) 27–38-flowered, 5–7 mm diam., bright yellow. Flowers 5-merous; sepals ⅔–¾-united; petals 2–2.2 mm long. Pods to 4 (–6) cm long, 8–10.5 mm wide, firmly chartaceous to thinly coriaceous. Seeds transverse.
