Characteristics

Shrub 0.3–1 m high. Branchlets yellow-ribbed, glabrous to sparsely antrorsely puberulous or shortly pilose. Phyllodes inequilateral, obtriangular to shallowly obtriangular with a prominent gland-bearing angle on adaxial margin, with adaxial proximal margin ±contiguous with branchlet, 4–6 mm long, 3–6 mm wide, sometimes to c. 15 mm long and 10 mm wide, pungent, glabrous, occasionally puberulous; midrib near abaxial margin, often with a faint second vein. Inflorescences simple, 1 per axil; peduncles 2–4 (–5) mm long, glabrous; heads globular, 4-flowered, cream to pale yellow; bracteoles sessile, acuminate; buds attenuate, rather angular when dry. Flowers 4‑merous; sepals ½–⅔-united, with aristate lobes; petals prominently 1-veined. Pods narrowly oblong, curved, to 7 cm long, c. 4 mm wide, coriaceous-crustaceous, blackish, glabrous; margins thick. Seeds longitudinal, ±oblong, 3–4 mm long, glossy, brown, arillate.
