Characteristics

Slender erect tree to 10 m tall. Bark smooth, later rough near base, greenish above, grey below. Branchlets ±terete, apically angled, brown to greenish brown, puberulous; ridges to 0.3 mm high, minutely tuberculate. Young foliage-tips pale yellow to golden, silky. Leaves herbaceous, feathery, dark green or dull grey green; petiole 1–2 cm long, white-or pale yellow appressed-puberulous, with 1 conspicuous gland near base of lowest pair of pinnae; rachis 3–6 cm long, with 1 gland at base of each pair of pinnae and 1–3 interjugary glands between each pair; pinnae (3–) 5–8 pairs, 2.1–7 cm long; pinnules 20–104 pairs, mostly oblong to cultrate, 0.8–3.6 mm long, 0.3–0.7 mm wide, 1-nerved, glabrous or ciliolate, obtuse. Inflorescences in axillary racemes (4–8 cm long), or terminal or axillary false-panicles; peduncles 1.5–4 mm long, slender, puberulous. Heads globular, 14–20-flowered, pale yellow. Pods ±straight-sided or constricted between seeds, straight or slightly curved, 4–13 cm long, 5–6.5 (–9) mm wide, thinly coriaceous, dull brownish black, sparsely puberulous.
