Characteristics

Shrub or tree to 5 m high. Branchlets ±densely appressed-puberulous towards extremities, glabrescent, with hairs straight and silvery-white. New shoots densely appressed-puberulous with cream-coloured hairs. Phyllodes linear, 5-8.5 cm long, 2-3 mm wide, acute, subuncinate, thin, ±glabrous or more commonly appressed-puberulous on midribs, with a few hairs sometimes on rest of lamina; midrib not prominent; lateral nerves inconspicuous; gland not prominent, 5-10 mm above pulvinus. Inflorescences racemose; raceme axes c. 4 cm long, silvery white appressed-puberulous; heads globular, 15-20-flowered, white or cream; peduncles 4 mm long, silvery white appressed-puberulous. Flowers 5-merous; sepals united. Pods (immature) to 10 cm long, c. 1 cm wide, thinly coriaceous, blackish, glabrous. Seeds (immature) longitudinal; aril clavate.
