Characteristics

Glabrous shrub to 1.5 m high. Branchlets compressed-angular at extremities. Stipules caducous. Phyllodes ascending to erect, narrowly oblong, 1.5–4 cm long, 4–7 mm wide, l: w = 4–8, obtuse, with inconspicuous mucro, often slightly thickened, somewhat glaucous with grey-white cuticle at least when dry; midrib not prominent; lateral veins ± absent; marginal vein discrete; gland inconspicuous, 1–2 mm above pulvinus. Inflorescences 2-headed rudimentary racemes 0.5–1 mm long; peduncles 8–15 mm long; heads globular, 4–6.5 mm diam., 27–35-flowered, golden. Flowers 5-merous; sepals free. Pods linear, raised over seeds, curved to once-coiled, to 4 cm long, c. 3 mm wide, slightly undulate, firmly chartaceous, slightly pruinose, glabrous. Seeds longitudinal, elliptic to oblong-elliptic, 2–2.5 mm long, glossy; aril clavate, c. 3/4 length of seed, cream.
