Characteristics

Shrub c. 2 m high. Branchlets terete, rather prominently ribbed, appressed-puberulous, aging glabrous. Phyllodes filiform, straight to slightly incurved, terete to subterete (± quadrangular near base), 8–14 cm long, 0.8–1 mm diam., acuminate and slightly curved at apex, flexible, antrorsely appressed-puberulous especially near base and apex, aging glabrous, with 8 distant veins separated by deep grooves between them. Inflorescences simple, 1 or 2 per axil; peduncles 6–15 mm long, sparsely to densely appressed-puberulous, glabrous in fruit; heads globular, 25–30-flowered; bracteoles spathulate, acute, ± puberulous. Flowers 5-merous; sepals free, linear-spathulate; petals united. Pods linear to narrowly oblong, to 10 cm long, 6–8 mm wide, coriaceous, flat, sparsely appressed-puberulous, aging glabrous. Seeds (slightly immature) longitudinal in pod, arillate.
