Spreading shrub 0.5-3 m high, rarely 2 m high tree. Branchlets resinous, sparingly puberulous. Phyllodes narrowly-or linear-elliptic to oblanceolate, ±inequilateral, obtuse to acute, 1.5-3 cm long, 3-6 mm wide, thin-coriaceous, straight to slightly curved, glabrous or sparsely appressed-hairy on margins, resinous, with 2 or 3 distant main nerves sometimes evident; secondary nerves mostly impressed and anastomosing in a regular reticulum; gland mostly 2-6 mm above pulvinus. Inflorescences 1-or 2-headed racemes; raceme axes 1-6 mm long, often resinous; peduncles mostly 3-6 mm long, puberulous, with hairs often golden; heads globular, 4-5 mm diam., 25-35-flowered, golden. Flowers 5-merous; sepals free. Pods linear, mostly undulate, arcuate, to 5 cm long, 2-4 mm wide, glabrous or few antrorsely curved micro-hairs, markedly shiny-resinous. Seeds longitudinal, elliptic, 3-3.5 mm long, glossy, brown; aril apical to subapical.
Grows in clay soil, loam, and sandy or gravelly loam to brown, red or white sand.
