Very like A. indica, especially with regard to the number and shape of the female bracts, although similar to A. segetalis in habit, but the leaves are more rounded at the base, and the muricate allomorphic female flowers are usually subsessile and may be terminal or lateral on the inflorescence, and are glabrous except for a single white hair at the apex of each tubercle.
