Inflorescences racemose, terminal or arising from the axils of fallen leaves, up to 6 cm. long, the lower half to two-thirds ♀, the upper part ♂; axis puberulous; bracts resembling the stipules.. Male flowers very shortly pedicellate; buds globose, subglabrous, gland-dotted at the apex, green.. Female flowers: pedicels 2–3 mm. long, extending to 5–8 mm. long and becoming reflexed at the apex after flowering, puberulous; calyx-lobes ovate, 1 mm. long, subglabrous; ovary 1.5 mm. diameter, tuberculate and beset with small refringent glands; styles ± free, 3 mm. long, laciniate, glabrous..
