Characteristics

A medium sized tree. It grows 8-12 m tall. It has buttresses. The leaves are in opposite pairs. They are 11-18 cm long by 7-10 cm wide. They taper to the tip. The leaves are dull green and more pale underneath. The veins have brown hairs underneath. The flowers can be on the trunk or branches. The fruit are red. There are 1-2 seeds about 10 mm long.
