Plants 150-800 mm tall; leaves coriaceous, imbricate, conduplicate, keeled, linear, acute, to 450 x 15 mm, grading apically into the papery, narrowly lanceolate, to 50 mm long sheaths. Inflorescences simple or more commonly with up to 10 branches, 90-500 mm long, laxly few-to many-flowered; bracts about half as long as the pedicels. Flowers 10-15 mm long, sepals and petals green to purplish-brown, lip white with purple callus and side lobes; pedicels plus ovaries 10-15 mm long. Sepals equal, spreading, lorate, acute, 9-13 x 2.5-3 mm. Petals hooding the gynostemium, with reflexed apices, narrowly oblong, acute, 9-12 x 3-5 mm. Lip narrowly obovate, 3-lobed, 10-15 x 5-7 mm, disc with 5-7 rows of papillae; midlobe rounded to obtuse, somewhat recurved, margins crenulate; side lobes rounded, porrect, 1.5-2 mm tall; spur rounded to obtuse, 1.5-2.5 mm long, subclavate, emarginate. Gynostemium with a slender and laterally flattened, 5-6 mm long column-part, foot expanded into 2 knobs; anther-cap 1.5 mm wide, with 2 prominent lateral horns; stipes short.
