Characteristics

Shrub to 3 m high. Branchlets cream-fawn, glabrous or with scattered to sparse indumentum of simple trichomes when young, glabrescent. Leaves coriaceous; petiole 3–47 mm long, cream; lamina length/petiole length ratio 2.6–18.7; lamina elliptic-ovate, rarely obovate, 56–145 mm long, 23–61 mm wide, base obtuse to rounded, rarely subcordate and unequal, margin flat, tip acute to acuminate, rarely rounded, midrib below strongly raised at lamina base (height ± equal to width), venation with secondary vein orders distinct, lower surface pale olive-green and matt. Male flowers: pedicel 13–15 mm long; sepals 2.5–3.5 mm long; petals 2.5–3 mm long; disc 5-angled. Fruit depressed-globose to subglobose, rounded, 9–10 mm long, 12–13 mm diam.
