Characteristics

Shrub or small tree to 8 m high. Branchlets cream, glabrous. Leaves coriaceous; petiole 10–44 mm long, green-yellow; lamina length/petiole length ratio 3.6–13.2; lamina elliptic, obovate, oblanceolate or oblong, 65–220 mm long, 12–110 mm wide, base acute to rounded, rarely weakly cordate and unequal, margin revolute, tip acute to rounded, rarely retuse, midrib below prominently raised at lamina base (height greater than width), venation with secondary vein orders distinct, lower surface pale green-yellow and matt. Male flowers: pedicel 10–15 mm long; sepals 2.5–4 mm long; petals 3.2–4 mm long; disc strongly 5 (or 6)-angled. Fruit depressed-globose to subglobose, rounded to weakly 3-lobate, 14–17 mm long, 14–20 mm diam.
