Shrub to 4 m high. Branchlets cream to green, glabrous. Leaves coriaceous; petiole 2–8 mm long, cream to green; lamina length/petiole length ratio 13.6–42.5; lamina obovate to oblanceolate, 33–195 mm long, 12–68 mm wide, base acute to cuneate, margin flat to slightly recurved, tip acute to acuminate, rarely rounded, midrib below prominently raised at lamina base (height ± equal to or greater than width), venation with quinary vein orders distinct, lower surface pale olive-green and glossy. Male flowers: pedicel 25–34 mm long; sepals 3.5–5 mm long; petals 2.8–3.5 mm long; disc annular to weakly 5-angled. Fruit globose, rounded, 20–25 mm long, 14–17 mm diam.
Grows in the understorey of ‘seasonally dry’ rainforest (evergreen complex notophyll vineforest) in rocky situations (along creeks or on ridges), with granite boulders in much evidence, at altitudes 20–240 m.
