Characteristics

Shrub to 3 m high. Branchlets dark brown, glabrous. Leaves coriaceous; petiole 3–20 mm long, olive green; lamina length/petiole length ratio 10.8–22.5; lamina elliptic, narrowly elliptic or oblanceolate, rarely obovate or orbicular, 40–220 mm long, 16–80 mm wide, base attenuate to cuneate, margin entire, flat, tip acute, obtuse or rounded, midrib below prominently raised at lamina base (height greater than width), venation with tertiary vein orders distinct, lower surface olive-green and matt. Male flowers: pedicel 2.5–7.5 mm long; sepals 2–3 mm long; petals c. 1.5 mm long; disc 5-angled. Fruit depressed-globose, rounded, 12–14 mm long, 14–17 mm diam.
