Characteristics

Shrub or small tree to 8 m high. Branchlets fawn-tan to olive-green, glabrous or with sparse indumentum of simple trichomes when young, glabrescent. Leaves coriaceous; petiole 9–80 mm long, olive green; lamina length/petiole length ratio 2–8.7; lamina elliptic-ovate, ovate or obovate, 48–190 mm long, 25–90 mm wide, base cuneate, obtuse or rounded, margin flat, tip acute, abruptly acute, acuminate or caudate, midrib below prominently raised at lamina base (height greater than width), venation with quaternary vein orders distinct, lower surface olive green and glossy. Male flowers: pedicel 3–7 mm long; sepals 3–4 mm long; petals 1.8–2.5 mm long, 0.5–1.2 mm wide; disc 5-angled. Fruit depressed-globose, rounded, 10–20 mm long, 15–27 mm diam.
