Characteristics

Shrub or small tree to 6 m high. Branchlets brown, glabrous. Leaves coriaceous; petiole 3–25 mm long, olive-green; lamina length/petiole length ratio 6–20; lamina elliptic to obovate, 37–207 mm long, 20–75 mm wide, base acute to cuneate, margin revolute, tip acute to rounded, midrib below prominently raised at lamina base (height greater than width), venation with tertiary vein orders distinct, lower surface pale olive-green and matt. Male flowers not seen. Fruit depressed-globose, strongly 5-lobate, 12–14 mm long, 15–19 mm diam.
