Characteristics

Shrub to 3 m high. Branchlets fawn-tan, glabrous. Leaves coriaceous; petiole 3–23 mm long, yellow-green; lamina length/petiole length ratio 6.2–18.6; lamina obovate to oblanceolate, rarely elliptic-ovate, 55–170 mm long, 23–66 mm wide, base acute to cuneate, margin flat, tip acute to acuminate, rarely rounded, midrib below strongly raised at lamina base (height ± equal to width), venation with tertiary vein orders distinct, lower surface pale yellow-green and glossy. Male flowers: pedicel 5–16 mm long; sepals 3.5–5 mm long; petals 1–2 mm long; disc 5-angled. Fruit depressed-globose, rounded, 11–15 mm long, 16–24 mm diam.
