Adenandra marginata Roem. & Schult.

A slender, 10-80(-130) cm high shrublet, ascending to erect or rarely with a sprawling habit. Leaves patent to erecto-patent, not imbricated; blade lanceolate to narrowly cordate or rarely oblong, 3.5-11 x 1-7 mm, acute or mucronate, with more or less revolute margins, usually eglandular or nearly so. Flowers long-pedicellate in 2-15-flowered umbels or subumbellate corymbs. Bracteoles small, often deciduous. Calyx segments ovate to triangular or lanceolate, c. 2-4.6 mm long. Petals suffused with red outside, porcelain-white inside; limb variable in shape, 3.5-8.5 x 2.5-6.5 mm. Staminodes patently pilose, tipped by a capitate gland. Anthers glabrous or sparsely pilose, tipped by a stipitate, capitate gland. Ovary usually glabrous, with or without stipitate glands; style recurved. Capsule much longer than the calyx.
