Slender climber to 5 m., glabrous.. Leaf-blades pale green, not punctate beneath, entire, elliptic to oblong or oblong-lanceolate, base acute to sub-cordate, top obtuse to acute, up to 1.5 cm. acuminate, 4–17 by 2–7(–8) cm., ± penninerved, sometimes with stronger nerves from near base, margin entire; petiole 0.5–2.5 cm.. Glands at blade-base 2, on 2 ± hollowed auricles 1.5–3 mm. in diameter lateral at the top of the petiole; blade-glands scattered or submarginal, (0–)1–8 at either side.. Stipules narrowly triangular, ± 0.5 mm., withering.. Inflorescences peduncled for up to 12 cm., up to 30-flowered in male, up to 10-flowered in female; tendrils (0–)1 or 3, 0.5–15 cm.; sterile tendrils up to 20 cm.. Male flowers tubiform, including the 0.5–3 mm. long stipe 15–23 mm.; hypanthium broadly cup-shaped, ± 5-saccate, 1.5–2.5 by 5–8 mm.; calyx-tube 8–12 mm.; calyx-lobes ± elongate-triangular, subobtuse to acute, subentire, 4–10(–12) mm.; petals linear to oblong, or spathulate or long-clawed, obtuse, 6.5–12 mm., (1–)3-nerved, fimbriate, inserted at the same level as the corona; filaments 4–7 mm., connate for up to 1–5 mm., inserted at the base of the hypanthium; anthers 5–6 mm., subobtuse, sometimes shortly apiculate; septa up to 1.5 mm. high; corona composed of fine threads 1–2 mm.; disk glands 1–1.5(–2) mm..
