Characteristics

Petals spreading, yellow, with red spots on the adaxial petal, which turns orange and then red as it fades, 1.2–2 × 0.4–0.8 cm, elliptic above the well-developed claw, the 2 lower petals a little shorter than the lateral petals, the adaxial petal more obovate.

Leaves: petiole 4–9 mm long; lamina glaucous, 1–3 × 1.2–4 cm, slightly emarginate to shallowly lobed at the apex, cordate at the base, the lobes semicircular, glabrous; stipules 2–4 mm long, subulate to lanceolate-acuminate.
Racemes (5)10–20 cm long, 20–40-flowered, with scattered glands on the axes; pedicels 4–6(8 in fruit) mm long; bracts 2–4 × 1–2 mm, lanceolate to elliptic-ovate, acuminate; bracteoles on the pedicel, a little smaller.
Pod pale yellow-brown to pinkish red, stipitate, 1.8–3 × 0.8–1.5 cm, oblong-reniform, slightly convex on the upper side, strongly rounded on the lower side, with 1–few seeds maturing.
Seeds light brown, often mottled, 5–7 × 3–5 mm, slightly and irregularly tuberculate around the edges, with a white blister above the hilum.
