Characteristics

Rhizome short, erect, set with subulate rhizome-scales c. 4 mm long. Fronds tufted, arching, membranous, often proliferous at apex of a naked extension of rhachis; stipe castaneous to black, up to 90 mm long, set with numerous brown hairs; lamina linear to cultrate, up to 260 x 40 mm, pinnate, attenuate; pinnae mostly oblong, but reduced and obcuneate towards apex of frond, up to 20 x 10 mm, shortly petiolate, incised irregularly on acroscopic margin into mostly emarginate lobes, thinly set on both surfaces with pale brown multicellular hairs c. 1.3 mm long. Sori borne at apices of pinna lobes; indusial flaps lunate to oblong, glabrous to thinly pilose.
