Characteristics

Perennials with erect, rarely decumbent stems up to 0.2 m long, usually little branched from base, with fibrous roots. Leaves obovate to orbicular, rarely elliptic, (10-)15-30(-35) x (8-)12-20(-25) mm, slightly cuneate, rounded and rarely mucronate, dorsiventrally flattened to somewhat convex and with indistinct horny margin practically around the whole leaf, grey-green to greyish brown and without dark markings, powdery or with very small flakes. Inflorescence a spike-like thyrse with one-flowered cymes, grey-green; peduncle (0.1-)0.15-0.2 m long; pedicel (l-)2-3 mm long. Buds terete, abruptly tapering towards apex, spreading. Calyx 1.5-2.5 mm long, grey-green. Corolla with cylindrical tube 11-13 mm long, green; lobes broadly triangular, 1-2 mm long, cuspidate, rough and without trichomes, pale yellow to white with pink mucro. Anthers exserted. Squamae square to transversely oblong, 0.8-1 x 0.9-1.1 mm, emarginate, scarcely constricted towards apex and base. Flowering period: (November) December, January.
