Perennial succulent, very variable, little branched, decumbent to prostrate ± 0.2 m high; roots fibrous. Leaves oblanceolate-spathulate or obtriangular, 30-50 x 15-25 mm, cuneate to shortly petiolate, truncate, horny margins restricted to upper half, convex on both sides, grey-green with purple spots on upper half. Inflorescence a thyrse, 0.25-0.35 m long with 1-3-flowered cymes. Buds terete, tapering and distinctly curved towards apex, spreading. Corolla with cylindrical tube 8-10 mm long, yellowish green; lobes lanceolate-triangular, 3-5 mm long, acute, rough, club-shaped trichomes towards throat, white or tinged pink with mauve line along margins. Squamae square to oblong-ovate, emarginate, broadest at middle. Flowering time Nov.-Jan.
Clump-forming, fibrous-rooted, succulent perennial, with branches up to 0.2 m tall. Leaves oblanceolate to obtriangular, dorsiventrally flattened, grey-green, often red-spotted, margin horny in upper half. Flowers in a spike-like, usually unbranched inflorescence; corolla tube 8-10 mm long, yellow-green, lobes 3-5 mm long, with minute, club-shaped hairs in throat.
Succulent perennial to 35 cm. Leaves obovate-cuneate with marginal ridge around apex only. Flowers in a spicate cyme, pinkish and red, cylindric, not grooved, flexed outwards at tip in bud, lobes elliptic, anthers included.
