Leaves petiolate, ovate to broadly ovate, base truncate, apex obtuse to rounded, margins crenate-dentate. Inflorescence fairly dense, terminal panicle; bracts broadly ovate, obtuse, usually imbricate. Flowers alternately single or in pairs, pale mauve to rosy pink. Calyx 1 mm long, enlarging to 3 mm at flowering, shortly 5-toothed. Corolla 4-5 mm long; lower lip with deltoid tooth or projection at base and somewhat hooded at apex. Style 2-fid. Flowering time Apr.? Fruit orbicular or ovoid nutlet.
