Characteristics

Inflorescences axillary, lax, 1–4-flowered, 1–2 cm long, pubescent with tubercular-based hairs; peduncles 5 mm long; pedicels graceful, 3–4 mm long, setulose; bracts 2–3-fid, 3.5 × 2 mm, ovate, sparsely ciliolate, deciduous; bracteoles 3–3.5 × l.5 mm, ovate to lanceolate, ciliolate, deciduous.

Leaves and petioles reduced to a simple brown scale 0.3–0.5 mm long; stipules thick, congested, 6–16 × 1.5–3 mm, lanceolate, cuspidate, slightly convolute, 11–13-nerved, pellucid-punctate between the nerves and with densely setulose hyaline margins, unappendaged.
Branched shrub 0.6–1 m tall; young stems densely covered with stout tubercular-based glandular hairs which become stiffer on the older shoots; older stems glabrescent, purplish and slightly ridged.
Fruit of 1–2 articles joined by a narrow neck; each article 4 × 3 mm, oblong-semicircular, compressed, slightly reticulate, sparsely setulose, the margins thickened.
Calyx glabrous, 2-lipped; lips 5 × 4 mm, oblong or ovate-oblong, the upper obtuse, the lower minutely 3-toothed.
Standard yellow, 9 × 5–6 mm, oblong-obovate, obtuse; wings and keel yellow, the petals of latter not laciniate.
