Characteristics

Short-lived perennial (?) herb with prostrate stems 10-60 cm long, rather densely pubescent with short grey usually spreading hairs and also with some longer bristly tubercular-based hairs on the young shoots. Leaves with an equal or unequal number of leaflets, 5-11-foliolate; leaflets 2.5-11.5 x 1.5-6.5 mm, obovate-oblong to rounded-obovate, rounded but mucronulate at the apex, obliquely rounded or slightly subcordate at the base, glabrous above, pilose on margins and beneath, particularly on the central main nerve; venation openly and prominently reticulate beneath; rhachis and petiole together 0.5-2 cm long; petiolules up to 0.5 mm long; stipules 3-5 x 0.8-1.8 mm, ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate, acuminate or acute, not appendaged, pubescent and with longer tubercular-based glandular marginal hairs, conspicuously nervose, persistent. Inflorescences axillary, 1-2(several?)-flowered, 0.5-5 cm long, peduncles 6-20 mm long; pedicels 3-6 mm long; bracts 2 x 1 mm, asymmetrically ovate, acuminate, nervose, ciliate, persistent; bracteoles 2 x 1.5 mm, elliptic, nervose, ciliate, persistent. Calyx pubescent, 3 mm long, obscurely 2-lipped, 5-lobed, lobes c. 1.5 mm long, 2 just over 1 mm wide, 3 just under 1 mm wide. Standard yellow or orange, 7 mm long and wide, almost round, sparsely pubescent outside. Wings and keel yellow, the latter not laciniate. Ovary densely silky. Fruit of 1-4 articles joined by narrow necks but contiguous, each article semicircular, 3.5-4.5 x 3-3.5 mm, appressed puberulous, slightly reticulate, strongly margined; stipe 2-5 mm long. Seeds pale olive-coloured, 2.3 x 1.8 x 1 mm, ellipsoidal-reniform, with an eccentric minute raised dark hilum.
