Erect very glandular subshrubby herb, 10–35 cm. tall, with several shoots from a woody rootstock, mostly flowering after burns, or a woody trailer or climber 0.5–1 m. long.. Stems covered with short tubercular-based hairs.. Leaves 6–12-foliolate; leaflets elliptic or oblong, 0.6–2.4 cm. long, 0.35–1.2 cm. wide, emarginate or rounded and usually mucronate at the apex, obliquely rounded at the base, glabrous, or pubescent on midvein beneath, ciliate; main nerve noticeably oblique, curved; petiole and rhachis 1.5–5 cm. long, pubescent with short tubercular-based hairs; petiolules ± 1 mm. long; stipules oblong or elliptic, 0.7–1.5 cm. long, 4–7 mm. wide, bilaterally appendaged at the base, leafy, glabrescent, ciliate, nervose, persistent.. Inflorescences axillary, several-flowered; rhachis 3.5 cm. long; peduncle 3.5–4 cm. long; pedicels 3–6 mm. long, pubescent; bracts 2-lobed, persistent, the lobes elliptic, 3–6 mm. long, 0.8–2.5 mm. wide; bracteoles linear-lanceolate, 2.5–4 mm. long, 0.5–1 mm. wide, ciliolate.. Calyx 2-lipped, the lips ovate-elliptic, 4–5.5 mm. long, 2.5–3.5 mm. wide, one 2-toothed, the other 3-toothed at the apex.. Standard orange-yellow, violin-shaped, 8 mm. long, 5.5 mm. wide, often emarginate, glabrous; wings and keel-petals orange-yellow, the latter not laciniate..
