Characteristics

Perennial herb, 0.5-2.0 m high, glabrous. Stems terete. Leaves in basal cluster, 75-150 mm long, pinnate, pinnae 1-or 2-pinnatisect, lobes/segments 15-25 mm long, toothed; petioles 150 mm long. Inflorescences: umbels with long rays and short raylets. Bracteoles ovate or, more often, fused into a cupule that encircles base of raylets. Flowers yellow. Flowering time Oct.-Jan. Fruit large, up to 15 x 8 mm, dorsally flattened, broadly winged on margins.
