Perennial herb. Flowering stems up to 0.8 m high; erect from a rootstock covered with fibrous old leaf bases. Leaves radical, compound; blade bipinnatisect; segments deeply pinnatifid, lobes linear, apices acute. Flowers: involucral bracts present; yellow; Oct.-Feb. Fruit dorsally flattened, ribbed, wing narrow.
