A much branched shrublet usually 20-30 cm high with villous branchlets. Leaves 3-5 mm long, alternate, crowded, erect-spreading, ovate-or oblong-lanceolate, elliptic or rarely obovate, obtuse, concave and sometimes minutely papillate above, often pubescent on the margin, rounded beneath, with conspicuous scattered glands, amply pilose or villous. Flowers in terminal clusters. Peduncles 1.5-3 mm long, puberulous or pubescent, often with minute stalked glands, bearing linear pubescent bracteoles on the upper half. Sepals 1.5-2.5 mm long, linear-oblong, very obtuse, slightly concave and sparsely pubescent above and beneath, long-ciliate. Petals 4-5 mm long; blade elliptic or narrowly obovate, obtuse, glabrous; claw 1.5 times as long, filiform, pilose. Stamens glabrous. Staminodes two thirds to three quarters as long as the petals and adnate to the lower half, with a linear blade and a filiform ciliate claw. Disk clasping the ovary. Ovary pubescent and pilose, with 2 or rarely 3 laterally compressed carpels without processes. Style pilose. Fruit bearing small conical processes on the dorsal angle of the cocci.
