Characteristics

Branchlets glabrous. Leaves 2-3 mm long, alternate, erect, sub-imbricate, narrowly ovate or narrowly obovate, obtuse, rounded at the base, concave and smooth above, pilose-ciliate, rounded and with scattered glands and minute pustules beneath. Flowers in terminal clusters. Peduncles 1.5-2 mm long, glabrous, with 2 bracteoles on the upper half. Sepals 1.5-2 mm long, ovate or oblong-lanceolate, obtuse, densely ciliate, rounded beneath. Petals 4-5 mm long, glabrous; blade obovate-or oblong-elliptic, very obtuse; claw two thirds as long, linear. Stamens glabrous. Staminodes 2.5-3 mm long, lanceolate, acuminate, oblong at the base, slightly concave above, pubescent beneath. Ovary pustulate, with 3 carpels bearing oblong smooth processes usually tipped with setiform hairs. Style glabrous. Fruit tubercled, often sparsely pilose on the upper half.
