Shrub flowering mostly on relatively short lateral branches; branchlets slightly flattened, puberulous with short spreading hairs, soon glabrescent.. Leaves subopposite; petiole 5–15 mm. long; lamina thinly coriaceous, somewhat glaucous, lanceolate to ovate-elliptic or oblong-elliptic, 5–11.5 cm. long, 1–4 cm. wide, acute to obtuse at the apex, cuneate at the base, glabrous except for a few scattered hairs near the base, with 4–6 pairs of lateral nerves, the lower ones ± strongly ascending.. Umbels 8–12-flowered; peduncle 7–10 mm. long, covered with stiff spreading hairs; pedicels 6–8 mm. long, similarly hairy; bract-limb ovate-triangular, 1–2 mm. long.. Receptacle 1.8–2 mm. long, minutely puberulous to subglabrous.. Calyx 0.3–0.5 mm. long, shortly and broadly toothed.. Corolla 4–4.5 cm. long, dull yellow to red with mauve tip, minutely puberulous on the lobes, subglabrous to sparsely puberulous on the tube (more conspicuous on constriction); apex of bud narrowly oblong-elliptic, 5–6 mm. long, 2.5 mm. in diameter, slightly ribbed; basal swelling ovoid-globose, 6 mm. long, 4 mm. in diameter, narrowed for 2–3 mm. above; lobes erect, 9 mm. long, the upper expanded part linear-elliptic, 5–5.5 mm. long, 1 mm. wide, hardened inside, keeled outside.. Stamens inflexed; tooth 0.5 mm. long; anthers 2.5–3 mm. long.. Style with a neck 2.5–3 mm. long; stigma capitate, 0.7 mm. across.. Berry not seen.
