Characteristics

Shrubs probably less than 0.5 m high, glabrous. Stems relatively thin, greyish, lenticellate. Leaves subopposite-alternate, lanceolate-linear, 40-60 x 5-10 mm, becoming highly coriaceous with age; petioles 4-5 mm long, flattened abaxially. Inflorescence: umbels solitary, axillary, mostly 3-flowered; peduncles c. 2 mm long, approximately equalling pedicels. Corolla with conspicuous basal swelling, yellow-orange, 30-35 mm long, tube split 7-9 mm below lobes; lobes erect. Filaments with tooth below anther. Style constricted below stigma. Berries obovoid, 10-12 mm long.

Corolla 4–4.8 cm long, orange-yellow, greenish at either end when young; apical swelling 5 × 1.8–2 mm, ribbed; basal swelling 5–7 × 4–4.5 mm, ovoid-ellipsoid, constricted above for 3–4 mm; lobes erect, 9 mm long, upper expanded part 5–6 × 1 mm, linear-elliptic, hardened inside, keeled outside.

Leaves opposite to subopposite; petiole 2–5 mm long; lamina coriaceous, mid-green, 4–14 × 0.4–1.2(1.5) cm, linear to linear-lanceolate, narrowed at either end, with lower nerves steeply ascending, but soon obscure.
Umbels 2–4-flowered; peduncle 1–3 mm long; pedicels 2–3 mm long; bract limb 2 mm long, ovate-triangular, ciliolate.
Style swollen and red opposite filaments; neck green, 3–3.5 mm long; stigma 0.8–1 mm across, capitate.
Small shrub, glabrous; twigs compressed, inconspicuously lenticellate.
Stamen filaments inflexed; tooth 0.3 mm long; anthers 3 mm long.
Calyx 0.5 mm long, slightly toothed.
Receptacle 2–2.5 mm long.
Berry not seen.
