Leaves alternate to opposite; petiole 3–10 mm. long; lamina ovate to oblong-lanceolate or elliptic, 4–12 cm. long, 2–7 cm. wide, obtuse at the apex, broadly cuneate to rounded at the base, with 3–4 ascending nerves on each side.. Umbels several, sessile in the axils, 2–3-flowered; sockets obliquely cupular; bract cupular with a small triangular limb, 2–4 mm. long.. Receptacle 1.5–3 mm. long.. Calyx campanulate to tubular, 3–5 mm. long, slightly toothed, ciliolate, sometimes unilaterally split as the base of corolla swells.. Filaments inflexed to once coiled, paler, hardened, the slightly expanded tip 1.5–2 mm. long; tooth 0.2–0.5 mm. long; anthers 2–3.5 mm. long..
