Shrubs with spreading and pendent branches, glabrous.. Leaves opposite to alternate; petiole 5–20 mm. long; lamina thinly coriaceous, green, glossy, lanceolate to linear-lanceolate or elliptic-lanceolate, 8–14 cm. long, 2.5–5 cm. wide, acuminate at the apex, basally cuneate to rounded or truncate, with 8–12 pairs of lateral nerves, the lower to middle ones more strongly ascending.. Heads 1–several per axil, 10–16(–24)-flowered; peduncle (plus rhachis) 4–8 mm. long; pedicels 3–5(–7) mm. long; bract saucer-shaped with a small triangular limb, 1.5–2 mm. long.. Receptacle obconic, 1.5–2 mm. long.. Calyx 0.7–1 mm. long.. Corolla 4.5–6 cm. long, pinkish red to mauve with yellow to orange band around vents, the reddish tip only slightly swollen over the anthers, apiculate, not swollen at the base; tube papillate on upper part inside; lobes erect, ± coherent, 10–12 mm. long, the expanded part linear-lanceolate, 5–7 mm. long, 1 mm. wide.. Stamens inserted near top of tube, inflexed to involute, reddish, tip of filaments slightly narrowed and hardened; no tooth; anthers 3–3.5 mm. long.. Style slightly broadened opposite the filaments, with a slight neck 3.5–5 mm. long; stigma ovoid, 0.8 mm. across.. Berry white, marked red, oblong-obovoid, 10 mm. long, 6 mm. in diameter; seed orange.
