Differt ab A. capensi caulibus robustioribus, densius foliosis; foliis plerumque 5-lobis, lobis longioribus, ad 1/6-1/7 radii longit. incisis, dentibus majoribus, acutioribus, stipulis majoribus latioribusque, 8-9 mm latis et longis, carpellis stylisque duabus stigmatibus globosis.

Differs from A. capensis by more robust stems that are densely foliate. Leaves frequently 5-lobed, lobe length 1/6-1/7 of radius; sharply incised, teeth larger and more acute. Stipules wider, 8-9 x 8-9 mm. Carpels 2, styles 2, stigmas globose.
