A herb with central rosette and creeping stolons, at intervals rooting at the nodes and producing tufts of basal leaves and erect flowering stems.. Stolons rather slender, sometimes crimson, sparsely to thickly covered with many whitish or pale yellow hairs.. Stipules reddish-brown, membranous, 1–1.5 cm. long, glabrous or with scattered hairs, adnate to the petioles throughout.. Leaves round in outline, 7–9(–11)-lobed, 2.5–6 cm. diameter, long-stalked, rather sparsely covered with long white hairs, which may be ± confined to the nerves, but varying to thickly and silkily hairy beneath; lobes reaching to or nearly to the centre of the lamina, obovate with the sides often nearly parallel, terminally truncate or nearly so and often emarginate, the sides and apex finely dentate; petioles 5–15 cm., brownish-green, hairy as the stems.. Inflorescence an open panicle; the flowers borne 6–8 together in usually congested, capitate fascicles 3–5 mm. in diameter; pedicels ± 0.5 mm. long.. Flowers yellow-green, ± 1.25 mm. long; calyx-lobes ovate-triangular; epicalyx-lobes oblong-lanceolate, shorter and narrower than the calyx-lobes; calyx outside and epicalyx covered with long white hairs, or lobes of the calyx and epicalyx marginally ciliate only..
