Stipules reddish-brown, membranous, 1–1.5 cm. long, glabrous or with scattered hairs, adnate to the petioles throughout.. Leaves round in outline, 7–9(–11)-lobed, 2.5–6 cm. diameter, long-stalked, rather sparsely covered with long white hairs, which may be ± confined to the nerves, but varying to thickly and silkily hairy beneath; lobes reaching to or nearly to the centre of the lamina, obovate with the sides often nearly parallel, terminally truncate or nearly so and often emarginate, the sides and apex finely dentate; petioles 5–15 cm., brownish-green, hairy as the stems.. Inflorescence an open panicle; the flowers borne 6–8 together in usually congested, capitate fascicles 3–5 mm. in diameter; pedicels ± 0.5 mm. long..
