Characteristics

Planta robusta ad 70 cm alia. Caulis c:a 3 mm diam. longitudi-naliter sulcatus ad basin tenuissime pilosus ceterum glaber. Folia basalia petiolata; petioli c:a 2 cm longi profunde canaliculati; laminae rotundatae-cordato-ovatae-obovatae 6-7 cm longae 2-6 cm latae crassae rigidae prominenter nervosae marginibus dense et aequaliter spinoso-dentatae; folia caulina numerosa amplexicaulia lanceolata grosse spinoso-dentata inferiora 4-6 cm longa 10-12 mm lata supe-riora minora. Capitula in inflorescentia ramosa disposita, ramis elon-gatis acute angulatis; bracteae involucrales 10, majores 5-7 mm longae oblongo-lanceolatae acutae nervo mediano crasso prominentes, minores 4-6 mm longae; sepala 0.6-0.7 mm; styli ca. 0.7 mm longi.
