Perennial herb. Flowering stems up to 1 m high; erect. Leaves radical and cauline, simple; blade narrowly ovate, margins serrate, cilia 2-3 mm long; cauline ones many, smaller. Flowers: involucral bracts equal or subequal; greenish white; Jan.-Mar. Fruit tuberculate.
