Leaves crowded at base, long-petiolate, lamina thick, oblong, dentate, with small teeth which are usually incurved, so directing long bristles inward, vein prominent (raised) leading up to seta. Involucral bracts in 2 series, acute to obtuse, white or pink. Flowers sessile in simple umbel. Flowering time mainly Nov.-Feb.
