Characteristics

Caules plerumque singulares raro plures parte dimidia superiore vel hiterdum etiam inferne ramosi remote foliati 1.5-2.5 mm diam. subteretes vel leviter sulcati. Folia crassa coriacea; basalia rosulata; petioli (1-)2-5 vel raro ad 12 cm longi teretes; laminae (1.5-)2-4 (-5) cm longae 1-1.5 (-2) cm latae ovatae-oblanceolato-oblongae marginibus spinuloso-crenato-dentatae setis vel spinulis 3-5 mm longis exstantibus vel saepe ± incurvatis e nervis manifeste incrassatis exeun-tibus munitae; caulina 1-2 vel raro ad 3 cm longa lanceolata setoso-spinuloso-dentata basibus amplectentes erecta. Capitula parva ± longe pedunculata; bracteae involucrales 10 basibus connatae, 5 majores partibus liberis 3-4 mm longae triangulares subacutae, 5 minores 2-2.5 mm longae angustiores acutae; sepala c:a. 1 mm longa; slyli 1.8-2 mm longi.
