Characteristics

Tree, large spreading to 30 (–40) m high. Indumentum ferruginous-silver. Leaf: petiole 30–210 mm long; lamina entire or 3-lobed, ovate, ovate-lanceolate or ovate-trullate, 110–400 mm long, 70–300 mm wide; lower surface with sparse to dense, ferruginous-silver, stellate hairs when young. Flowers 8–12 mm long; petals oblanceolate to spathulate. Male flowers: pedicels 5–15 mm long; stamens 24–32; filaments 0.8–1 mm long, with scattered simple hairs. Female flowers: pedicels 2–3 mm long; ovaries 3-or 4-locular; styles 2.8–3 mm long. Fruits ovoid-subglobose, 50–65 mm long, 70–80 mm diam., 3-or 4-seeded. Seeds globose, 20–25 mm long, 20–25 mm diam.
